A Journey of Healing and Transformation
After years of navigating a dysregulated nervous system and often finding herself caught in a state of fight or flight, Kathleen Alboney, also known as Kat, sought healing through various modalities such as talk therapy, EFT Tapping, and EMDR. Her journey was further compounded by years of surgeries and burnout from working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic as a Controller in Los Angeles, CA. After spending twenty years in a high-stress position and ultimately ending up on disability, Kat faced significant challenges to her well-being, compounded by being a survivor of childhood trauma and the resulting patterns that developed over time.
Childhood trauma can leave a profound imprint on the body, often manifesting as persistent patterns that affect emotional and physical well-being. When individuals experience trauma during their formative years, they may develop coping mechanisms involving emotional suppression, leading to feelings of being a "doormat" in their relationships and interactions. These suppressed emotions can become trapped within the body’s tissues, resulting in chronic tension, pain, and a heightened state of alertness. This response is known as "somatic memory," where the body remembers and reacts to past traumatic events, even when the individual is not consciously aware of the specific triggers.
During this difficult period, Kat discovered the transformative power of sound healing and experienced profound benefits with crystal sound bowls. Intrigued by the effects of sound, she delved deeper into the world of sound healing, exploring the remarkable potential of weighted tuning forks. As she continued her journey, Kat became a certified sound bath practitioner in February 2023, further expanding her ability to facilitate healing through sound.
Realizing the incredible impact that sound healing had on her life, Kat felt called to create KatBeLove —a space where others could embark on their own healing journeys. The name "BeLove" reflects Kat's commitment to finding and nurturing love within herself, especially after experiencing the heartbreak and sadness associated with the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lives lost during that time. Kat understood that to truly extend love to others, she needed to first love herself.
Weighted tuning forks are particularly effective in this healing process. These instruments stimulate the nervous system, helping to break the cycle of stress and anxiety. Research has shown that sound healing, especially with weighted tuning forks, can significantly aid in the healing of trauma. The vibrations produced by the forks encourage the body to enter a state of deep relaxation, allowing it to process and release traumatic memories stored within. This method empowers individuals to let go of old patterns and traumas, paving the way for healing and personal transformation.
Through her journey with sound healing and her newfound expertise as a certified sound bath practitioner, Kat has harnessed the power of weighted tuning forks. At KatBeLove, she facilitates a deeper connection between the body, mind, and spirit, helping others regulate their nervous systems and enhance their overall health and well-being. By creating a safe and nurturing environment for healing, Kat is dedicated to guiding others toward a more fulfilling and liberated life.
